Sen. Fasano Fights for Taxpayers, Democrats Pass Budget with $2 Billion Tax Hike
Senator Len Fasano (R-North Haven), Senate Minority Leader, voted against the state budget for fiscal years 2016-2017 negotiated by Governor Dannel P. Malloy and legislative Democrats behind closed doors. The budget, which passed the Senate late last night and now heads to the governor’s desk, includes a $2 billion tax increase, the second largest tax increase in state history.
Rep. Yaccarino Opposes Budget Loaded with Taxes and Spending
State Rep. Dave Yaccarino (R- North Haven) voted early Wednesday morning in strong opposition to Democrat-negotiated tax hikes. The proposed budget, which passed the House without a single Republican vote, and 11 Democrat votes, increases spending $784.5 million in the next year and increases taxes $1.5 billion in the biennium.
