It’s a tight fit at Montowese Fire Company 2, where there’s little room for firefighters to don gear and board the apparatus.
Because of the tight space, the trucks have to be pulled into the driveway so that firefighters can board, and so that the driver’s side door on one engine doesn’t hit the passenger’s side door of the other in the middle of the bay when the doors open.
And when the trucks leave the bay, diesel fumes linger in the station, causing a health concern.
