The League of Women Voters of Hamden-North Haven will participate in the Hamden Earth Day April 12, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

“We are calling our exhibit “Climate Change Reality”, said Diane Hoffman, organizer of the LWV participation. “We want to underscore that climate change is real.” Assisting with the exhibit are Jackie MacKnight and Andrea Aldrich.

The League table will feature interactive climate change websites for various age groups, informational games, and printed information. Crossword aficionados will find Earth Day-appropriate word search and crossword puzzles

Picture books will illustrate how the changing climate reshapes landscapes and will help to understand why communities in low-lying geographical areas are already losing their homes to rising water.

The League table will also be a station in the scavenger hunt game.

The League of Women Voters supports policies to reduce energy consumption, to encourage energy conservation, and to promote the use of renewable resources. Men and women who would like to discuss joining the League should call 203/248-8035 or write [email protected]
