Two Arrested for Car Break-Ins & Drug Possession

North Haven police reports that today (Nov. 21), two men were arrested for breaking into several vehicles in town and were subsequently found to be in possession of cocaine.

Two vehicles in the parking lot of a State Street business, and one in a parking lot of a Universal Drive business were broken into Monday morning, police said.

A witness described the suspects and reported they left the area in a yellow pick-up truck.

Officer Valdemar Queiroga tracked down the suspects, and stolen property, in New Haven a short time later. The two men were found with the stolen property from the vehicle break-ins, and a small amount of cocaine.

Robert Hastings, 34, of North Haven, and Wilfredo Rivera, 33, of New Haven were charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of sixth-degree larceny, three counts of criminal mischief, possession of narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
