State Representative Dave Yaccarino (R-87) paid a visit to Clintonville Elementary in North Haven to participate in Read Across America Day on Friday, March 6th.

In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Rep. Yaccarino joined in the nationwide celebration by reading classic children’s stories to several classes of students during Read Across America Day in North Haven.

Rep. Yaccarino read the Dr. Seuss favorite “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” Before his visit concluded, he had an interactive discussion with the children about state government and his role as their State Representative.

“I am always excited to spend time reading to our school children,” Rep. Yaccarino said. “The more our children read, the better they will do in school.”

“I’d also like to express my gratitude to the teachers and administrators in our public schools that work so hard to foster a love of reading and motivate our children to learn,” said Rep. Yaccarino.

Launched by the National Education Association in 1998, Read Across America Day involves more than 3.2 million teachers, librarians, athletes, celebrities, politicians, business professionals and everyday people reading to an estimated 45 million children in 2015.
