State Sen. Paul Cicarella (R-North Haven) was recognized by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) for his 100 percent pro-business voting record on key bills that it identified as critical to the state’s business community and overall economic growth.
CBIA identified 10 key bills from the 2023 legislative session that make up the framework for a legislator’s voting record based on the potential impact—positive or negative—on job growth and the state’s post-pandemic recovery.
Legislators were scored based on their opposition or support of these measures relative to the business community’s positions.
Sen. Cicarella said, “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. They provide the jobs that keep our economy going, and we cannot burden them with excess regulations and red tape. As a small business owner, I understand the many challenges that they face across the state. The only way Connecticut’s economy will rebound is to ensure that businesses have an environment where they can grow and create more jobs for residents. This is how residents will prosper. I will continue to support polices that advance job training and access to well-paying careers.”
