On Tuesday, March 26th, State Senator Len Fasano (R-34) and State Representative Dave Yaccarino (R-87) will hold a state budget forum at the North Haven Recreation Center (Rm 1).
The meeting, which is open to the public, will run from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The meeting will include a 20 minute presentation of Governor Malloy’s two-year budget proposal followed by a question and answer period and discussion of alternative ways to address Connecticut’s fiscal challenges. Sen. Fasano participated in a similar forum Monday night in Wallingford. The legislators want to hear from their constituents and gather input for the coming legislative debate and vote.
“Our presentation will detail how Governor Malloy plans to spend more than $40 billion of taxpayer money over the next two years,” said Sen. Fasano. “We’ll evaluate the good and the bad and talk to our neighbors about how state fiscal policy is affecting their lives and what changes they’d like to see to make things better. Gathering public input is the most important part of the budget process.”
“The input of our constituents is paramount as we discuss the Governor’s budget proposal in Hartford,” Yaccarino said. “I was elected to be the voice of the people of North Haven and, to do that properly, I need to have an open conversation and listen to their thoughts and opinions.”
