The North Haven Democratic Town Committee is proud to recognize Fire Commissioner Peter Criscuolo, Jr. for his work securing the donation, painting, and delivery of a CAT 260C skid steer machine to the North Haven Fire Department.
The skid steer, a compact bucket-loader style machine, will be used by the Fire Department as a training aid, particularly for exercises involving vehicle rescue and extrication. This type of hands-on training helps firefighters prepare for real emergency situations where they may need to remove individuals safely from damaged vehicles.
Commissioner Criscuolo raised the funds needed to have the equipment donated, painted, transported, and delivered to the department.
“Our firefighters deserve the tools and training resources they need to stay ready for every emergency,” said Tim Gabriele, Chair of the North Haven Democratic Town Committee. “Peter saw a need, brought people together, and helped make something meaningful happen for the men and women who serve this town.”
Vehicle rescue is among the most technically demanding work firefighters may face. Having access to real equipment for training allows firefighters to practice safely, build confidence, and sharpen the skills needed when seconds matter.
“This donation reflects the very best of community service,” Gabriele added. “It is practical, thoughtful, and directly supports public safety in North Haven.”
