On Monday December 11th, State Representative Dave Yaccarino concluded a winter clothing drive for local veterans and families. Rep. Yaccarino partnered with Columbus House to organize donation sites at various businesses throughout North Haven. The effort focused on providing homeless and insecure veterans in the North Haven area with new winter essentials, like hats, gloves, and warm underwear.
“Each year, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of our neighbors to support the most vulnerable in our community. Through your gracious donations, Columbus House will be able to serve local veterans and their families who can suffer from limited access to vital resources during colder months. They have sacrificed so much for us and this is a small token of our appreciation for them,” Rep. Yaccarino said.
Multiple locally-owned businesses and civic organizations volunteered as donation sites to facilitate the successful clothing drive.
“The success of this drive is also a testament to the strength of North Haven’s local business network and emphasizes their commitment to growing our community through charity and partnerships,” Rep. Yaccarino said.
Thank you especially to American Legion – Post 76, Arnold’s Jewelers, Yaccarino Automotive, Camouflage Clothing Boutique, and Moon Rise Café for your continued support.
Rep. Yaccarino added, “Columbus House is such a valued partner in this annual drive and an asset to the people and families that they serve.”
