LWV Debates

Participating in the debate will be Republican Dave Yaccarino, incumbent, and Democrat Theresa Ranciato-Viele.

The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Hamden-North Haven is organizing two debates by candidates for the Connecticut General Assembly.

Wed., Oct. 24, 7:00-9:00 pm, Miller Memorial Library Thornton Wilder Hall, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden. Running for a seat in the Connecticut Senate from District 17 are Republican Sen. George Logan, incumbent, and Democrat Jorge Cabrera. The debate moderator will be Ray Andrewsen, WQUN 1220 AM. The questions will come from the audience in writing (index cards and pencils will be provided). Citizens Television (CTV) will record and air the debate in Hamden, New Haven, and West Haven on Comcast Channel 96 and statewide on Frontier Channel 99 and also make the taped debate available to other community TV stations in District 17 that serves Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Hamden, Naugatuck, and Woodbridge.

Thurs., Oct. 25, 6:30-8:00 pm, North Haven Middle School auditorium, 55 Bailey Road, North Haven. Running for a seat in the Connecticut House of Representatives from District 87 are Republican Rep. Dave Yaccarino, incumbent, and Democrat Theresa Ranciato-Viele. The debate moderator will be Elise Low, LWV of the East Shore. The questions will come from the audience in writing (index cards and pencils will be provided). NHTV will tape the debate and air it on NHTV.COM, Comcast Cable 20 and 1084, and on Frontier Vantage TV Channel 6053.
