Bridging the Divide in Politics

The event drew a diverse audience and featured practical strategies for navigating political disagreement in both public policy and personal life.

State Sen. Paul Cicarella joined members of the Braver Angels Connecticut Alliance at the North Haven Memorial Library on Oct. 8 for a community forum focused on bridging political divides through respectful dialogue and bipartisan problem-solving.

“It’s about bringing people together to get things done, and that is our job at the Capitol,” said Sen. Cicarella. “We won’t agree on everything, but we must communicate and engage in respectful dialogue. If legislation benefits the majority of our residents, I’m going to support it. Thank you to Braver Angels for joining me to share this important message and provide residents with tools to have open, constructive conversations.”

The event drew a diverse audience and featured practical strategies for navigating political disagreement in both public policy and personal life. Braver Angels is the nation’s largest cross-partisan, volunteer-led movement to bridge the partisan divide and strengthen our democratic republic.
