On the final day of the 2025 legislative session, State Representative Dave Yaccarino (R-87), proudly announced the successful passage of legislation that will bring $2.6 million in long-overdue state funding to North Haven High School.
The funding, included in House Bill 7288, Section 157, addresses a decades-old financial obligation stemming from cost overruns during a previous phase of construction at the high school. Yaccarino, who has been a tireless advocate for North Haven throughout his time in the legislature, worked diligently to ensure the money was secured.
“This is something that dates back to before I was even elected – and before Mike Freda was elected – but it was never fully resolved,” said Rep. Yaccarino. “I worked hard in the subcommittee and with my colleagues to get this funding included in the final package. Today, we got it passed in the House.”
Yaccarino emphasized that while the win required teamwork, his focus has always been on delivering real results for the people of North Haven.
“It’s always a team effort, but it’s an honor and privilege to serve the wonderful people of North Haven,” he said.
With the legislative session concluded, Rep. Yaccarino will return to North Haven and continue working on local issues important to his constituents.
“I’ll be back in town tomorrow and look forward to seeing everyone,” he added. “Thank you so much for the continued trust and support.”
