North Haven Soccer Club Hosts Benefit for Ailing Child

On Saturday, August 10th at Memorial Field in North Haven, soccer players of all ages will come together to help a little boy in need of a new heart.

Max Johnson is two and a half years old from western Massachusetts and is need of a heart transplant. Max was born with an L transposition of the Greater Arteries and is currently first in line on the transplant list for a new heart. Max lives full-time at Boston Children’s Hospital under constant medical care and observation, and this fundraiser will help defray the family’s mounting medical bills.

This is a great opportunity for kids to have fun and help Max at the same time. On Saturday, August 10th, current and former college coaches and players will hold clinics for local soccer players. Soccer players will learn foot skills, practice shooting, and take a turn in goal.

Any players in U5 – U11 will play from 9am – 12pm. Starting at 12:30pm, older players will take the field. Players can pay on the day of the event. The cost to participate is $25 per player. All of the money will go directly to Mighty Max Heart.

More information can be found on the North Haven Soccer Club website, and players can reserve a spot now by email.
