40th Anniversary of the Integrated Day Program

There will be an open house to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Integrated Day program in North Haven. All current and former students, parents, teachers, and administrators are welcome to attend this event Thursday, June 7th, from 5:30-8:00pm at Ridge Road School, 1341 Ridge Road in North Haven.

The Integrated Day program began in North Haven in the early 1970’s in response to  parental requests for a different type of learning environment for their children. The program features multi-age classrooms and project-based learning. After a three-year pilot, the model was established as a permanent program alongside the more traditional Conventional or Contemporary program. After initially being housed at Ridge Road School, the program later expanded to include classes at both Ridge Road and Green Acres Elementary. There are currently 13 classes in the Integrated Day programs for grades kindergarten through fifth. At the open house event, examples of current project work will be on display, along with photos and other remembrances of past years. Come see old friends and share your own memories of ID!
