North Haven Resident Appointed to National Advisory Council to NCORE

Mohammed Bey, of North Haven, director of multicultural education at Quinnipiac University, has been selected to become a member of the National Advisory Council to NCORE®, the National Conference for Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education.

NCORE is a national forum that discusses issues of race and ethnicity in American higher education. Bey will serve on a 45-member council that reflects the representation of race, ethnicity and gender of the NCORE participants. The committee assists with NCORE’s annual program, including suggesting keynote speakers, special events and marketing opportunities.

“There are a number of organizations to get involved with that link to one’s profession,” Bey said. “However, there are only a few that have the prestige and opportunities for professional development and networking like the National Conference for Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education has for its attendees and members. It is truly an honor and I am looking forward to serving on the advisory committee.”

Bey graduated from Marian University of Fond du Lac with a bachelor’s degree in public and professional communication and a master’s degree in organizational leadership and quality. He is working on a doctorate in philosophy and social psychology at Walden University.

Bey has worked at Quinnipiac since 2011.
